Pizza with love

over 5 decades

a family tradition

our story

At Pizza Pete, we are more than just a pizzeria; we are a family with a mission. Since our inception in 1967, we have been dedicated to serving the best thin-crust pizza on the South Side, a tradition that the Skopick and Paulas families proudly continue today. Our journey began with a simple desire: to keep the fantastic Pizza Pete pizza alive for generations to come and to create a positive impact on our community.

Our story took a heartfelt turn when the Skopick family decided to purchase the last Pizza Pete location in Orland Park in 2020, following the previous owner’s retirement. This decision was fueled by a powerful motivation to provide a nurturing and inclusive workplace for individuals with special needs, inspired by Skopick’s oldest daughter, Danielle, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two. We envisioned a place where young adults like Danielle and others with special needs could find employment, purpose, and the opportunity to be active members of society.

Pizza with A Purpose

In early 2021, we expanded our family by opening a second location in Frankfort, where we continue to serve our signature tavern-style thin crust and double-decker pizzas, along with various other beloved menu items. Our commitment to quality and community extends beyond our doors. Through our "Pizza with a Purpose" initiative, we partner with local 503(c) charities every Tuesday, donating 25% of the day's proceeds to support their vital work.

Our dedication to giving back doesn't stop there. We understand the immense sacrifices that first responders and frontline medical workers make to keep us safe and healthy. As a small token of our deep appreciation, we have donated them thousands of dollars worth of free food. We hope this gesture brings them comfort and nourishment during these challenging times. We believe in the power of community and the impact of generosity, which is why we continue to support local charities and sports organizations weekly.

Pizza Family

At Pizza Pete, we are more than just a restaurant; we are a place where families gather, memories are made, and everyone, regardless of ability, is given a chance to shine. We invite you to join us in our mission to serve delicious food, support our community, and make a difference, one pizza at a time.
